Ingredients
- 280 g basmati rice
- 4 pak choi baby or 2 medium clean and chopped
- 2 yellow onions peeled and cut into thin strips
- 1 Garlic peeled and laminated
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- Cardamom powder ginger and salt to taste
- Soy sauce
Preparing the spices
1
Bring a pot with plenty of water and salt to boil.
2
Prepare all ingredients previously mentioned.
3
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet and add the onion with a pinch of salt.
4
Let the onion cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until it is golden brown.
5
Meanwhile, when the water has started to boil, add the rice and cook for the time indicated on the container. Once cooked, strain and reserve.
6
When the onion has turned a nice golden hue, add the garlic. Cook for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally so it doesn’t burn.
7
Turn up the heat and add the pak choi and a pinch of salt. Sauté for a couple of minutes, but not too long so it doesn’t get overdone.
8
Add the rice, sauté over high heat for a couple of minutes and add the ginger and cardamom powder. Add a few drops of soy sauce, but without overdoing it so that the flavours are well balanced. Taste and finish adjusting with more spices, soy sauce or salt.
9
You can also add a tacos of salmon or chicken to have the protein content.
