Spicy Halal Chicken Curry Recipe

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp grated ginger
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 can diced tomatoes
1/2 cup chicken broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped cilantro for garnish


  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onions, garlic, and ginger and cook until the onions are soft and translucent.
  2. Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Add the cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, and cayenne pepper to the pan and stir until the chicken is coated in the spices.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes and chicken broth to the pan and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  5. Season the curry with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the spicy halal chicken curry hot, garnished with chopped cilantro.
